over the past few years, i have tried to write down short comversations that i’ve had, or heard, so that i would remember them later and be able to laugh. here are a few of them.
a short conversation between my dad and me:
me – well i’m just not as argumentativeĀ as you
dad – yes you are
me – no i’m not
dad – you are too. don’t tell me…
me – no i’m not
dad – i know better
me – i am not
dad – are too
me – am not, and i see what you’re doing…
a short conversation between my ma and me, about small towns:
me: i swear it’s like no one in branford knows how to use their turn indicators.
my ma: well, they don’t really have to because we already know where they’re going.
“Most civilization is based on cowardice. It’s so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.” – The Stolen Journals: God Emporer of Dune
a quick 7:50pm convo with hubs:
homer – what are you doing?
me – trying to decide if i’m actually going to eat something today or not.
homer – you haven’t eaten?? why haven’t you eaten??
me – i’m not hungry.
homer – you HAVE to eat.
me – i KNOW! but I’M NOT HUNGRY!!
homer – well clearly it’s not affecting your temper.
